Royal Roads University is one of a number of very fine learning institutions
located in the Victoria area. The owner of Sooke Ocean Escape attends
Royal Roads University as a distance learning post graduate student
and like so many before her is enthralled by the beauty of the location
and the caliber of the education she is receiving.
Located on a beautifully
preserved 650-acre wooded Edwardian estate comes complete with a castle,
Italian and Japanese gardens very enjoyable walks in the woods, a
spectacular ocean view and most importantly a first class education.
Students from across Canada and around the world who are enrolled
in Online Learning are required to attend Royal Roads periodically
to participate in on-campus studies and it has been our pleasure to
host these students at our oceanfront suites in East Sooke.
The Sooke Ocean Escape is a great off-campus location made
available for students, faculty and family members visiting students
attending university. The two 2,500 sq ft newly renovated, re-furnished,
oceanfront, four bedroom, suites provide a great place for study or
relax, while being surrounded by many outdoor opportunities.
The
20’ x 40’ dock on the tranquil shores of the Sooke Basin
has proved to be a popular place to study and relax, while taking
full advantage of the wireless high speed Internet access.
Those who have time to stay on after a time of intensive study will
enjoy kayaking and sailing excursions from the dock and hiking the
many area trails. Trails range from the very easy Galloping Goose
to East Sooke’s very own wilderness trail.
The Galloping Goose is also a beautiful biking trail that meanders
its way from Roach Cove to Royal Roads on its way to Victoria.

nature of the fine furnishings that adorn this very large, sunny room
overlooking the ocean. There are a number of furniture styles in a
series of groupings including an entertainment centre with a large
flat screen TV with cable TV and DVD. Around the corner there is a
large attractive dinette next to a modern fully equipped kitchen.
The main floor also has a large Master Bedroom, with an en-suite
and walk-in closet. There is a bedroom and en-suite on the third floor
and two more attractive bedrooms and a large games room on the ground
floor.
